- Brief Summary
Introduction: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, health services needed to be remodeled to adapt to the new imposed reality, given the need for social distancing and minimization of disease contagion. In this context, the demand for telehealth increased amid the continuity of health monitoring of the population, with benefits being observed in the context of telenutrition. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of teleattendance in nutrition on the eating habits of healthy young adults. Methodology: Interventional, clinical, randomized and controlled study, lasting 12 weeks, which is an online nutritional counseling program based on the guidelines oriented by the Food Guide for the Brazilian Population, aimed at young adults. A telemarketing nutritional counseling protocol will be tested and applied to improve eating habits. Participants will be divided into multicomponent, traditional and control groups, where the first will have combined multiple strategies, the second individual consultations and the third educational material. Results: After 12 weeks of follow-up, 86 participants reached the end of the study. Both the multicomponent and traditional groups showed significant improvement in the scores on the eating practices scale when compared pre and post intervention, and when compared to the control group. Conclusion: The effectiveness of different telenutrition protocols in the feeding of young adults was evaluated, where the results indicate that both the multicomponent and the traditional methodology are positive in promoting changes in diet, with a more expressive emphasis on the use of mixed methods in telehealth.
