Patients with Severe Alcoholic hepatitis
healthy Controls
1.Hepato Renal Syndrome
2.Hepato Cellular Carcinoma
3. Uncontrolled bacterial infection
4.GI haemorrhage
5.Hepatic encephalopathy
6.HIV infection
7.SBP
8.Anatomical conditions promoting intestinal stasis or recirculation of enteric contents such as small intestinal diverticula, surgical blind loops, fistula,
9.Patients with impaired motility, including diabetes mellites, scleroderma, intestinal pseudo-obstruction,
10.Patients who received anti-microbial and lactulose in the month preceding the study
11.Patients on probiotics, prokinetics and acid-suppressive therapy, the patient who underwent colonoscopic preparation preceding one week are excluded
12.COPD and Active smokers
13.Liver disease with other cause
14.Jaundice more than 6 months
15.AST >500 or ALT >300 (not compatible with alcoholic hepatitis)
16.Pregnancy and lactation
