Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • All individuals with 18-60 years of age undergoing elective surgeries in JIPMER belonging to ASA class of 1 & 2 planned for general anaesthesia with orotracheal intubation.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1 Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgeries
  • 2 Patients who require elective ventilation post operatively and hence not extubated
  • 3 Patients with high risk of aspiration preoperatively like GI obstruction including GOO, Achalasia cardia, etc.
  • 4 Pre-existing laryngeal diseases
  • 5 Patients expected to have profound hypotension during the surgery
  • 6 Patients for whom rapid sequence intubation is planned
