Inclusion Criteria
Willingness to participate (signed informed consent)
- Admitted to hospital as inpatient
- Meet the ARI case definition (Presence of at least 2 respiratory symptoms/signs for at least 24 hours before hospital admission OR at least 1 respiratory symptom/sign AND 1 systemic symptom/sign for at least 24 hours before hospital admission)
- Onset of ARI signs/symptoms not more than 10 days before enrollment
- Enrolled max. 72h after admission to hospital
Exclusion Criteria
- No ability to follow study procedures (in the opinion of the investigator)
- Participation in an investigational study/clinical trial
- Enrolled in the BUCOSS Hosp study within the previous 90 days
