Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Parturients aged 20 to 40 years, of American society of anaesthesiologists physical status 1 and 2, with term singleton pregnancy scheduled for elective caesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Parturients with diabetes, hypertension, other cardiovascular, respiratory or hepatorenal disease, obesity (BMI \>30kg/m) complicated pregnancy, foetal abnormality or distress.
  • 2\. Coagulopathy, thrombocytopenia, or any contraindications to spinal anaesthesia
  • 3\. Allergy to study medication or patients receiving 5 hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors.
