a) Age group of 20 â?? 60 years of either sex.
b) Patients with diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, based on the parameters- fasting plasma glucose ( FPG) >= 126 mg/dl or 2 hour plasma glucose ( PG) >= 200 mg / dl, or HbA1C ( glycated haemoglobin ) >= 6.5 % or random plasma glucose >= 200 mg / dl, as per 2019 American Diabetes Association classification.
c) Individuals with healthy periodontium,
d) Patients with diagnosis of generalized stage III grade B periodontitis, as per 2017
World Workshop on classification of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and
conditions.
e) Individuals who smoke < 10 cigarettes per day.
f) Presence of at least 20 natural teeth.
a) Patients with any systemic diseases other than Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
b) Those who have undergone periodontal therapy in last six months preceding the start of the study.
c) Individuals who have history of any antimicrobial or anti- inflammatory therapy in the last six months.
d) Pregnant, lactating and postmenopausal women.
