Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Age greater than 18 years
  • •Patients on mechanical ventilation
  • •Ramsay sedation scale between 4 and 6 levels
  • •Hemodynamic stability
  • •No osteoarticular lesions (rib fractures or unstable thorax).

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Intracranial hypertension \> 30 mmHg
  • •Pneumothorax
  • •Hemodynamic instability with use of high doses of vasoactive drugs, dopamine and dobutamine \> 5 µg/kg/min and noradrenalin \> 0\.5 µg /kg/min
