1) One vital index tooth: premolar or molar in any two of the four quadrants.
2) Cervical abrasion (score 2 or 3 of B.G.N SMITH and J.K. KNIGHT tooth wear index 1984).
3) Clinical hypersensitivity in response to compressed air with a score = 5 on a visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain.
4) Participants consent.
1) Gingival inflammation/recession.
2) Generalized attrition/erosion.
3) Tooth lesion with signs of pulpitis.
4) Pregnant and lactating women.
5) Silver/heavy metal allergy.
6) Received fluoride varnish treatment within preceding month.
7) Use of any desensitizing agent.
8) Periodontal pocket >5mm.
