Patients aged 18-70 years, belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (ASA) of I or II, scheduled for Upper limb surgeries
1.Refusal to SBPB,
2.Presence of coagulopathy or bleeding disorder,
3.Local infection at the injection site,
4.Hypersensitivity to local amide anesthetics, or were hypersensitive or allergic to dexmedetomidine
5.Cardiac conduction block,
6.Patients on �²-adrenergic antagonist or an antiplatelet agent,
7.Body mass index >35 kg/m2,
8.Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus,
9.Significant cardiopulmonary disease, or psychiatric disease.
