Two single root teeth per patient with persistent periodontal pockets (ST 5mm/BOP + or 6mm and <10mm) in one jaw, in different quadrants and at a distance of one tooth.
- The examination will be performed on 50 patients.
- Patient is regularly aware of the supportive periodontitis therapy
- It is a periodontal disease with a slow or moderate rate of progression.
- A maximum of 20% smokers are to be admitted to the patient collective.
- The last antibiotic should have been taken at least 12 weeks ago.
- Taking antibiotics during the study period
- Increase of probing depths = 2mm
- Development of a periodontal abscess
- Pus drainage over the pocket
- simultaneous periodontitis treatment elsewhere during the study period
- Tooth extraction of the selected teeth
- Need for antibiotic prophylaxis
- Serious general diseases that have a significant influence on the immune system (e.g. HIV, autoimmune diseases, cancer, poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, etc.)
- Haemorrhagic diathesis
- taking bisphosphonates or blood-thinning drugs
- Presence of pregnancy
- Presence of an infectious disease (e.g. hepatitis, HIV)
- severely reduced general condition
