Inclusion Criteria

ASA physical status Iââ?¬â??II,

Surgery in supine position under GA,

Duration of anaesthesia <2Hrs,

Exclusion Criteria

History of - preoperative sore throat or recent upper airway infection, oral surgeries, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,

Pregnant women,

Mallampati grade >II,

cervical spine disorder,

Patient on chronic medication (NSAID, Steroids),

Those who required more than one attempt at intubation.,

Known smoker

Time of intubation >15 seconds.

Incidence and severity of sore throat in first 24 hours of post operative period on using jaw thrust during intubationTimepoint: Sore throat monitoring and grading will be done at 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours post-extubation by an anaesthetist not aware of the group of patients
