Inclusion Criteria

  • Age of majority
  • Total bilirubin > 3 mg/dl

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients who or their legal guardians have not consented to the study
  • Patients after liver transplantation
  • Death likely within 48 hours of inclusion
  • Chronic liver function impairment with bilirubin >3mg/dl prior to acute illness
  • No planned LiMON® measurement in clinical routine
  • Postoperative after liver transplantation
