ASA 1 or 2 women with term, uncomplicated, singleton pregnancy scheduled to undergo elective and emergency caesarean section
- Systolic blood pressure: 100 to 150 mm of Hg
- Diastolic blood pressure: 70 to 90 mm of Hg
- Patient refusal to participate in study
- Absolute and relative contraindication to spinal anesthesia
- Pregnancy induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia etc..
- CVS (e.g. valvular heart disease) and CNS(e.g. cv stroke) abnormalities
- Diabetes Mellitus (Random blood sugar >140 mg/dl)
- Fetal (e.g. macrocephaly) and placental abnormalities(e.g. placenta previa)
- Sensitivity to local anaesthetic agent used in study
