1. Patients included were 14 years of age or older, irrespective of sex, seen at the Department of Surgery, SMS Hospital.
2. All these patients had diagnosis of inguinal hernia confirmed during surgery irrespective of type.
3. Patients under ASA (American Society of Anaesthesiologists) ASA grade 1 â?? normal healthy person or ASA grade 2 â?? patient with mild systemic illness.
4. Patients giving consent to undergo inguinal hernia surgery using either of the mesh.
1. Patients presenting with recurrent hernia irrespective of the type of repair done previously.
2. Patients presenting with features suggestive of strangulated or obstructed hernia.
3. HIV positive and other immunocompromised (cancer pt., pt. on steroids, pt. on chemotherapy) patients.
4. Patients under ASA grade 3 or above.
5. Patients not giving consent to be part of the study.
6. Patients suffering from hemorrhagic tendency.
