Inclusion Criteria
Elective surgery under general or regional anesthesia
Exclusion Criteria
Illiteracy, language barrier, impaired visual acuity or mental disorders which would prevent patients to complete the questionnaire.

Name Time Method 1) By means of a questionnaire: Prevalence and intensity of preoperative anxiety, anxiety about surgery and anxiety about anesthesia according to APAIS and mNRS
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 2) Importance of specific fears associated with anxiety about anesthesia according to mNRS.<br>3) Risk factors of preoperative anxiety according to APAIS by means of multiple logistic Regression.<br>4) Importance of specific Coping strategies according to a Likert scale and percentage of patients who would like to have information in order to cope with preoperative anxiety.<br>5) Percentage of patients who wish to decide by themselves if anxiolytic premedication should be administered. Time that is considered optimal by patient when to be given the anxiolytic premedication.
