Patients must have diabetes mellitus

Patients in active attendance at a designated care centre i.e. at least one visit in the last 6-12 months

Exclusion Criteria

Patients aged <18years old

Patients unwilling to participate in the study

Patients with known cause of anaemia

Patients with severe uncontrolled blood pressure

Patients with evidence of cardiac decompensation
