Families with at least one child or adolescent between 3 and 17 years with overweight (body Mass Index >90. percentile) or obesity (body Mass Index > 97. percentile)
- In the public health insurance and part of the HzV contract” of the health insurance company AOK Baden-Württemberg (pediatric module)
- adequate knowledge of the German language
- prior participation in a interdisciplinary obesity training for the duration of one year or more
- participation in a child rehabilitation or inpatient treatment for weight loss within the past year
- severe other systemic disease of the child/adolescent
- severe other psycho-social stress or disease of the child/adolescent which is not associated with overweight/adiposity (e.g. treatment of a schizophrenic disorder (ICD F2) with appetite-enhancing medication such as neuroleptic drugs)

Name Time Method BMI-SDSLMS (calculated via validated measures of height and weight taken at the pediatric practice) at all main measurement time-points as well as health-related quality of life measured by the KINDL-R questionnaire at all main measurement time-points
