Inclusion Criteria
1. scheduled for elective bowel surgery.
2. ASA 1 or 2.
3. duration of surgery > 60 min.
4.Procedures where total gut irrigation is done to prepare the bowel (e.g. Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty,abdomino perineal pull through Duhamol procedure, colostomy closure, Hartmanâ??s procedure etc.)
Exclusion Criteria
1Cardiopulmonary disease
2.Renal insufficiency
3.Hepatic failure
4.Anticipated massive bleeding/severe hypotension
5.Emergency procedure
6.Hb <8gm/dl
