Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Children between 2 years and 25 years with neurological deficit in the form of defective limb movement and diagnosed as Acute flaccid paralysis due to poliomyelitis by a pediatrician. The patient or his/her guardian giving well informed consent to be included in the blind study

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients less than 2 years of age or more than 18 years of age. Patients with severe infection with involvement of the respiratory muscles or a chronic source of infection like tonsillitis, UTI. Patients not willing for the study or wanting to drop out later.
