Inclusion Criteria
Individuals between the age group of 20 to 80 years having insomnia of minimum three month duration.
Either sex.
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with psychiatric illness like schizophrenia, Major depressive disorder, psychosis, epilepsy , Anxiety disorders etc
Patients with alcohol dependency or drug dependency.
Patient with other sleep disorders like narcolepsy, breathing-related sleep disorder, circadian rhythm sleep disorder, or parasomnia
Patients with other illness like asthma , malignancies ,liver cirrhosis ,
Chronic renal failure, etc. were excluded .
Use of hypnotics by prescription, psychotherapy within the past 4 weeks
Pregnant or lactating women
