Study & Design

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Percentage change of mineral content in the dental enamel after an observation period of four weeks. The alteration of the fluorescence of the enamel is determined by QLF (quantitative light-induced fluorescence). The fluorescence is proportional to the mineral content of the enamel.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Percentage change of surface roughness of the dental enamel (sa-value) adjacent to the bracket after an observation period of four weeks. Demineralization enhances, remineralization reduces the surface roughness. The determination of the sa-value is performed by focus variation microscopy (FVM).
