Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients aged between 18\-60 years of either sex, belonging to
  • American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status (I and II) scheduled to undergo
  • tubeless percutaneous nephrolithotomy under spinal anaesthesia for a single renal stone of
  • \>2cm diameter and requiring single subcostal puncture will be included in this study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia such as coagulopathy infection at the site of
  • lumbar puncture Known history of hypersensitivity/anaphylaxis/ contraindications to ropivacaine or its
  • components Pregnancy Mental disorders/illness Excessive intraoperative bleeding More than one puncture and requiring supra\-costal puncture ,BMI \>30kgm\-2 Chronic drug/analgesic abuse Refusal to give consent Surgical procedure \>3hrs
  • will be excluded from the study
