Inclusion Criteria
Patients with understanding of the Dutch language, aged 18 years or older and presenting at the Dizziness clinic with a diagnosis of definite or probable BPPV according to the *Consensus Document of the Committee for the Classification of Vestibular Disorders of the Bárány Society*.
Exclusion Criteria
Severe disability (e.g. neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular) or serious concurrent illness that might interfere with taking blood samples

Name Time Method <p>1. 25-hydroxyvitamin D<br /><br>Sufficient levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D will be defined as >=50nmol/L and<br /><br>insufficient levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D as <50nmol/L.<br /><br><br /><br>2. Uric acid<br /><br>a hypouricaemia will be defined as <0.15mmol/L, a normouricaemia will be<br /><br>defined as 0.15-0.35mmol/L and a hyperuricaemia will be defined as >0.35mmol/L.<br /><br><br /><br>3. HbA1C<br /><br>a low HbA1C will be defined as <20mmol/mol (<4%), a normal HbA1C will be<br /><br>defined as 20-42mmol/mol (4% - 6%) and a high HbA1C as >42mmol/mol (>6%).<br /><br><br /><br>4. Age<br /><br><br /><br>5. Gender<br /><br><br /><br>6. Duration of symptoms<br /><br><br /><br>7. A history of head trauma<br /><br><br /><br>8. A history of vestibular neuritis<br /><br><br /><br>9. A history of Ménière's disease<br /><br><br /><br>10. A history of (vestibular) migraine</p><br>
