The presence of metal in the body (e.g. osteosynthetic material, pacemaker, artificial cardiac valves, dental braces) or other contraindications to MR imaging; claustrophobia; known or symptomatic brain disease, psychiatric or neurological disorders; current or previous treatment with medications that influence the 5-HT system (SSRIs, methylphenidate, sleep aids etc.); contraindications to citalopram treatment (known hypersensitivity to one of the contents, use of other SSRIs or pimozide (Orap), thioridazine or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)); current or past drug (ab)use, excessive consumption of alcohol (>21 units/week), caffeine (> 8 cups/day) or nicotine (>10 cigarettes/day).

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method
Resting-state phMRI:

- % change in resting-state fMRI signal compared to baseline in 5-HT related

regions of interest (ROIs)

Task-related phMRI:

- % change in task-related fMRI signal from baseline in ROIs related to the

specific tasks

- Differences in % change between resting-state and task-related phMRI scans,

between ALS- and BOLD-based resting-state signal and between the four different

task-related signals

- Differences in % change between the citalopram-challenged phMRI scan sessions

and the placebo scan session.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method
- Test-retest ability: difference in % change between the two

citalopram-challenged phMRI scan sessions

- % change in cognitive performance on emotional face recognition task,

Go/No-go task, reward task and motor task between the three different phMRI

scan sessions and between the three baseline scan sessions (to exclude order

effects)
