Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patient age \= 18 years
- •\- no palliative medical treatment by a consiliary
- •And presence of at least one of the following trigger factors:
- •\- Length of stay \= 30 days in intensive care unit
- •\- Age 80 years or older and two or more relevant comorbidities
- •\- Admission (more than twice) to intensive care unit during same hospital stay
- •\- Performing a tracheotomy
- •\- Diagnosis of intracerebral hemorrhage with mechanical ventilation
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- Patient age \< 18 years
- •\- Length of stay \< 72 hours in the intensive care unit
- •\- Palliative consultation before study enrolment
