Inclusion Criteria
sufficient linguistic communication ability
- elective surgery in case of soft tissue sarcoma of the extremities or lipomas >5cm
Exclusion Criteria
- Pregnancy
- diabetic polyneuropathy
- needle phobia
- relevant mental disorders (e.g.: borderline patients with risk of self-injury)
- serious coagulation disorders (e.g.: clinically relevant hemophilia)
- lack of communication skills
- amputation of the extremity

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Postoperative pain measured immediately before and after acupuncture treatment (20 minutes) <br>determined by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) pain scale and the brief pain inventory (pain questionnaire)
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method - Use of painkillers in the period up to 120 hours after surgery.<br>- Movement degrees after neutral zero method nevertheless<br>- Quantity and duration of drainage<br>- DASH questionnaire (disability of arm-shoulder-hand)<br>- LEFS questionnaires<br>- Duration of hospital stay<br>- EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire<br>- Pain evaulation 6-8 weeks postoperatively<br>- Compliance
