Criteria needed for you to be eligible for this study are:
- Men and women aged 60 years and above
- Body mass index <33 kg/m2
- Have not participated in any sport training programme for more than 3 times a week and more than 30 min/day for the past one year
- Have not participated in any resistance training in the past two years
- Cleared initial screening with PAR-Q+
- Skeletal muscle index: <8.5 kg/m2 for men, <5.7 kg/m2 for women
- Hand grip strength: <30 kg for men, <18 kg for women OR gait speed <0.8 m/s for both men and women
- Physically-abled to participate in exercises
You will not be able to join this study if you are
- Diagnosed with any unstable coronary heart disease, congestive heart - disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes mellitus, renal failure
- Having uncontrolled hypertension
- Presented with major orthopaedic disability
- Presented with silent ischaemia from sub-maximal exercise test
- Smoking
- Daily alcohol consumption
