Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. ASA physical status less than or equal to III
- •2\. 18\-75 years of age
- •3\. Endoscopically/histologically confirmed carcinoma of stomach planned for elective gastrectomy
- •4\. Adequate liver and renal function
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Patient refusal
- •2\. Patients with uncontrolled diabetes
- •3\. Patients in whom thoracic epidural analgesia is not feasible
- •4\. Patients who are not motivated or not willing to perform incentive spirometry.
