Presence of the signed consent form
- Patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the hip joint for which a total hip replacement has been medically indicated.
- Patients who are cognitively and linguistically able to read and understand the information of the study and its questions.
- Patients suffering from moderate to severe symptoms originating from the affected hip (min. VAS = 4)
- Patients with an age of more than 18 years
- Failure to meet inclusion criteria
- Patient refusal
- Incapacity of the patient to give consent
- Insufficient knowledge of German, or insufficient understanding of the study
- Lack of medical indication for implantation of total hip arthroplasty
- History of infection of the leg to be operated on
- Previous surgery on the affected leg within the last 6 months
- Presence of rheumatoid arthritis
- Current tumor therapy or tumor disease
- Current deep vein thrombosis

Name Time Method Endpoint of the volunteer:<br>3 laboratory tests, which are determined.<br><br>Laboratory testing of D-dimers:<br>1st preoperatively (admission laboratory).<br>2. on the 1st postoperative day (routine laboratory post-op)<br>3. on postoperative day 5-8 or before discharge.<br><br><br>Study Objective:<br>75 subjects per arm
