- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Complication rate from surgery, including fractures, infection and dislocation. These will be assessed clinically and by xray[2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 1 year and 2 years post-operation]
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Clinical scores (function): Oxford Hip Score, 6-minute walk test[3 months, 1 year and 2 years post-operation];Satisfaction: Visual analogue scale[3 months, 1 year and 2 years post-operation];The impact on the muscle of cutting the tendon (in the standard group) using the preserved tendon (in the less invasive group) as a control. This outcome is assessed using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the Piriformis and Obturator Internus in a subgroup of 20 patients.[Preoperative, and 3 months and 2 years postoperative.]
