  • •patients posted for elective craniotomy

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Patient refusal
  • •2\. Emergency cases
  • •3\. Patients with uncontrolled hypertension
  • •4\. patients with preoperative bradycardia
  • •5\. patients with ischemic heart disease or cardiac arrhythmias
  • •6\. patients with severe pulmonary or hepatic or renal disease
  • •7\. drug allergy to local anesthetic used or clonidine
  • •8\. patients on alpha blockers preoperatively
