1. Patients scheduled for elective caesarean delivery via a low transverse abdominal incision (Pfannenstiel) under spinal anaesthesia
1. Patients refusal 2. Known allergy to the study drug
3. Body mass index more than 40 kg/m2
4. Contraindications to regional anaesthesia (bleeding diathesis, infection at the site of block and peripheral neuropathy)
5. Severe medical conditions such as severe pre-eclampsia and eclampsia.
6. Significant renal, hepatic or cardiovascular disease.
7. Neuraxial block failure.
8. Any major intra-operative complication like post-partum haemorrhage.
