Effects of Treadmill Gait on Physical Response, Gait and Trunk Muscle Activation of Stroke Patients in Different Depths of Water
- Conditions
- Diseases of the nervous system
- Registration Number
- KCT0002690
- Lead Sponsor
- Gyeongin Rehabilitaion Center Hospital
- Brief Summary
The experiment was carried out by recruiting twelve stroke patients, whom had agreed on the experiment consent form, who were suitable for the inclusion criteria and who had been admitted I Hospital in Inchon. The HR and RPE at both on the underwater treadmill conditions increased significantly at all speeds than that on the ground treadmill (p<.05), and the HR and RPE at gait on the underwater treadmill with knee depth increased significantly at all speeds than that on the underwater treadmill with pelvic depth (p<.05). At both underwater treadmill conditions, SF with comfortable speed were significantly decreased compared to that at ground treadmill (p<.05), at underwater treadmill with knee depth, SF with comfortable speed were significantly increased compared to that at underwater treadmill with pelvic depth (p<.05). At both underwater treadmill conditions, SL with comfortable speed were significantly increased compared to that at ground treadmill (p<.05), at underwater treadmill with knee depth, SL with comfortable speed were significantly decreased compared to that at underwater treadmill with pelvic depth (p<.05). However, there was no significant difference in SF and SL between knee depth and pelvic depth treadmill gait.
