- Primary nerve reconstruction
- Direct reconstruction or reconstruction with grafts (nerve, vein grafts) / nerve conduits
- Incomplete DN lesions
- Secondary nerve reconstruction (e.g., neuromas)
- Pregnancy / nursing period
- Diabetes mellitus, peripheral polyneuropathy or other neurological diseases interfering with nerve regeneration
- Known nerve compression syndrome of the upper extremity
- Previous surgery / injury to the affected digit
- Patients under legal care

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method - Re-Innervation-Mapping: Assessment of sensory nerve regeneration by detection of the non-sensitive area of the affected digit over a 6 month postoperative period.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method - Hoffman-Tinel sign: Evaluation of the nerve regeneration distance.
- Static 2-point discrimination (s2PD): Assessment according to the modified Highet classification.
- Sharp-blunt discrimination: Differentiation between sharp / blunt sensation in the autonomy area of the injured DN.
- Ten-test: Indication of the sensation in the autonomy area of the injured DN in tenths compared to the standard findings.
