1. Lid swelling which is clinically diagnosed as chalazion-
a) Of at least one month duration
b) Size >3 mm
c) Not responding to conservative management for a minimum of 2 weeks.
A lesion would be categorized clinically as chalazion based on the following diagnostic features: Firm painless swelling in either lid involving the tarsal plate, increasing gradually in size with no symptoms of inflammation.
2. Subject able and willing to participate in the study.
1. Subject on anticoagulant which cannot be discontinued.
2. Ocular and periocular infection within 14 days prior to surgery.
3. Pregnant and breast feeding women.
4. Patient with known allergy to xylocaine or triamcinolone acetonide used in
the study.
