Inclusion Criteria

Patients aged 40 to 80 years with immature senile cataract in one or both the eyes, giving an informed consent for the study, that have been scheduled to undergo phacoemulsification surgery with IOL implantation.

Exclusion Criteria

I.History of previous intraocular surgery in same eye.

II.Patients with co-existing ocular pathologies in the same eye.

III.History of trauma to the eye, infection or inflammation within the previous 3 months.

IV.Patients with poorly dilating pupils as a result of diabetes, IFIS, PXF syndrome, senile miosis and patients with prolonged pilocarpine therapy.

V.Congenital cataract.

VI.Mature cataracts or associated raised IOP.
