?Displaced Intra articular calcaneal fracture
?Patients age < 60 years of age
?Bilateral calcaneal fractures are also included under the study
?Fracture should be < 3 weeks old
?Informed written consent of the patient for the study
?Patient age > 60 years of age
?Cases in which there is sensory/motor loss in bilateral lower limbs like assosciated head injury or paraplegia
?Undisplaced fractures ( Saunders type 1 )
?Extra articular fractures
?Pathological fractures
?Open fractures
?Presence of peripheral vascular disease
?Skin infection
?Fractures developing compartment syndrome
