Diabetic foot ulcer is a common and serious complication of diabetes mellitus often leading to infection prolonged hospitalization and risk of limb loss
The severity of diabetic foot ulcers is commonly assessed using the Wagner grading system which helps guide management and prognosis
This study aims to evaluate the clinical features microbiological profile neurovascular status and level of glycemic control in hospitalized patients with diabetic foot ulcers and to correlate these factors with the severity of ulcers based on Wagner grading
Clinical assessment will include ulcer characteristics and associated comorbidities Microbiological evaluation will identify causative organisms and infection patterns
Neurovascular assessment will focus on peripheral neuropathy and peripheral arterial disease
Glycemic control will be assessed using blood glucose levels and HbA1c values
By correlating these parameters with Wagner grades the study seeks to identify factors associated with more severe ulcers
The findings may help in early risk stratification targeted treatment and improved prevention of complications such as infection and amputation in diabetic foot ulcer patients

- •Patients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Hospitalized patients with one or more clinically diagnosed diabetic foot ulcers Age more than or equal to 30 years Ulcers that can be graded using the Wagner classification system Patients who give informed consent to participate in the study Willingness to undergo clinical microbiological Retinal Renal and neurovascular assessment.
排除标准
- •Patients with non-diabetic foot ulcers example venous pressure or arterial ulcers unrelated to diabetes Patients with malignant ulcers or ulcers secondary to autoimmune or vasculitic diseases Individuals with severe comorbid conditions such as advanced malignancy end-stage renal disease on dialysis or terminal illness that could confound outcomes Pregnant or lactating women Patients who have received antibiotic treatment within the past 7 days before wound culture collection Patients with incomplete clinical data or who are unable/unwilling to comply with study protocols Patient with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.
