Inclusion Criteria
Patients with deep sternal wound infection after median star notomy.
Compliance with the criteria of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for deep sternal wound infections with purulent secretion from the wound, fever >37.5°C, leukocytosis greater than 10,000/µl or open chest.
Exclusion Criteria
Failure to meet the inclusion criteria

Name Time Method Quality of life (SF 36), mortality and force reduction (dynamometer measurement) 18 months postoperatively.
