AIM**:**The aim of the study is to find out the Effectiveness of Corrective exercises vs Thrower’s Ten Programme on Strength and Throwing distance in Amateur Badminton Players from sports complex of Parul University

INTRODUCTION:Badminton is a popular sport in India, players require aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed, and precision, besides requiring good motor coordination and complex racquet movements[1,2]. Throwing, serving in badminton, overhead motions, requires a great level of ability. Flexibility, muscular strength, coordination, synchronization, and arm neuromuscular control are crucial for such actions.Badminton players run the risk of suffering non-contact traumatic injuries to their joints and muscle-tendon units due to the game’s fast, rapid motions and abrupt direction changes.Prevalence ,Among badminton players, studies reveal that overuse injuries are more common, exceeding trauma injuries by three times.Corrective exercises aimed to lower the risk of overuse injuries, which are frequently observed in sports, while enhancing posture, mobility, and stability. It is a series of focused exercises and motions used to treat movement dysfunctions, enhance posture, facilitate healing, prevent injuries, boost postural health, and boost athlete performance,The purpose of the Thrower’s Ten Exercise Program is to strengthen the main throwing muscle. All of the 22 workouts are tailored specifically for throwers and are meant to increase the shoulder complex’s strength, power, and endurance.

Need of Study:Badminton is a physically demanding sport that requires a combination of strength , speed and precision, its requires a lot of overhead motion, due to repetitive nature of the game athletes are prone to have shoulder injuries and posture of rounded shoulder, forward head associated with weakness of scapular retractors, deep flexor muscles.Corrective exercises encompass a wide rang of movements and techniques tailored to address specific muscle imbalances , weaknesses, or movement dysfunctions.The thrower’s Ten is a well-known exercise program designed to improve the strength , endurance and flexibility of the shoulder and upper body muscles with a focus on athletes involved in throwing sports .This study is essential because it aims to identify which exercise program, corrective exercises or the thrower’s Ten program is more effective in improving the specific physical attributes crucial for badminton , such as strength and throwing ability.

Procedure: After taking approval from ctri and ethical committee informed consent will be taken from the subjects and pre assessment will be done according to the inclusion criteria. participants will be divide into two equal groups in group A will receive corrective exercises for 4 weeks and group B will receive Thrower’s Ten exercises for 4 weeks and post assessment will be taken after four weeks. Conclusion of the study will be made after statistical analysis.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Subjects willing to participate in this study.
  • All male and female asymptomatic overhead recreational badminton players.
  • Duration of sporting activities for 2 years with at least 6 months a year and frequency of minimum 40 minutes thrice a week.
  • Participants who have not participated in any other research in last one year.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Any subjects who had any history of upper limb fractures within the past 2 months .
  • Shoulder or neck musculoskeletal surgery in past 6 months 3)Cervical spine pathology and or spinal deformity and glenohumeral joint subluxation or dislocation within the past 6 months.

Time Frame: 4 weeks

  • Upper limb explosive power test(4 weeks)
