Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •patients of either sex, age more than 18 years posted for elective or emergency surgery or admitted in ICU requiring central venous catheterization.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Patientâ??s refusal
- •2\. Infection at the catheterisation site
- •3\. Coagulation abnormality
- •4\. Cardiac rhythm or conduction disorder
- •5\. Patients with a pacemaker in situ
- •6\. Anatomical deformities of the neck or chest
- •7\. Pneumothorax
- •8\. Trauma to clavicle and upper ribs or cervical spine trauma
- •9\. Any pathology leading to tracheal deviation
- •10\. Pregnant patients
