Fitted with a cochlear implant for at least 3 months
Speech perception score in quiet in a sentence test at least 70%

Exclusion Criteria

Cognitive impairments
Lack of German language skills

Primary Outcome Measures

Measurements:<br>(a) Speech perception test (Oldenburg sentence test):<br>Training: <br>- 2 test lists á 20 sentences in quiet<br>- 2 test runs á 20 sentences with 2 different interfering sounds <br>Test: <br>- 5 interfering noises x 2 test lists x 2 runs = 20 measurements + training= 24 measurements.<br><br>Duration: ~ 1 ½ hours <br><br>b) ACALES:<br>Training:<br>- 1 run with a randomly chosen noise (plausibility test).<br>Test: <br>- 5 interfering noises x 2 runs<br>Duration: ~ 45 hour minutes<br><br>c) Questionnaire on listening effort:<br>Handed out once before the beginning of the measurements <br>Duration: 15 minutes<br><br>Total measurement duration: ~ 2 1/2 hours <br><br>Measurements with subjects are about to start in June. <br>A total period of one year is planned for the measurements of the 20 subjects.
