1. Patients belonging to American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II
2. Age 18 years to 35 years
3. Parturient with singleton and multiple pregnancy
4. Gestational age > 36 weeks
5. Caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia
6. Patients with essential hypertension
7. Women with history of pregnancy induced hypertension
1. Patients with coagulopathies and other contra-indications for spinal anaesthesia
2. Patients with history of significant systemic disorders (cardiovascular, respiratory, renal or central nervous system)
3. Abnormal placentation
4. Allergy to any drug being used in the study
5. Spinal sensory loss level above T6 dermatomal level
6. Patient refusal
