Inclusion Criteria
ASA 1 and 2, patients posted for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia
Exclusion Criteria
Known Allergy to study drugs
Opioid used 1 month prior to surgery
Chronic opioid addiction
Pregnant and lactating mothers
Patients with cardiac insufficiency
Mental incapacity of patient to comprehend pain assessment/psychiatric disease

Name Time Method To compare analgesic requirement at 1st post operative hour based on VAS score in patients undergoing general surgery between opioid free anaesthesia and opioid based anaesthesia groupsTimepoint: 120 minutes

Name Time Method 1) assess Extubation time. <br/ ><br>2) To determine VAS score at 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins, 60 mins,90 mins, 2hrs, 4hrs, 8hrs, 12hrs, 16 hrs, 24hrs <br/ ><br>3) To determine hemodynamic response â?? Intraoperative /postoperative <br/ ><br>period <br/ ><br>4) Total analgesic requirement for 24 hrs <br/ ><br>5) To assess complications if any ( PONV /shivering /bradycardia,hypotension, respiratory depression <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 24 hours
