Inclusion Criteria
Forty infants of American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1 undergoing cheiloplasty and palatoplasty were recruited into the study
Exclusion Criteria
Infants of diabetic mothers and those with endocrine disorders and anticipated difficult airway were excluded

Name Time Method The primary objective of the present study is to evaluate the effect of addition of 1% dextrose to intra-operative maintenance fluids (Ringerâ??s lactate) on blood glucose levels in infants undergoing facial cleft surgeries.Timepoint: After induction, then hourly intraoperatively for 2 hours
