1. Adult patients (>21 years) with stable COPD GOLD I-IV
2. Established on stable pharmacotherapy for COPD
3. Systolic blood pressure >130 mmHg
1. Unable to provide informed consent
2. AECOPD in the preceding month
3. Significant comorbidity limiting exercise tolerance
4. Significant comorbidity limiting life expectancy
5. Significant renal impairment (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <30 ml.min1)
6. Use of >3 blood pressure lowering medications
7. Change in medication in the previous month
8. Oral nitrate medication
9. Current (in the last month) use of Beet Shots
