1)Patients suffering from chronic periodontitis.
2)Probing pocket depth >=5mm.
3)Clinical attachment loss >=3mm.
4)Number of remaining teeth >=20 excluding third molars.
5)Patients suffering from chronic periodontitis and early stages of rheumatoid arthritis.
6)With elevated ESR( >30mm/hr.),
7)C- Reactive Protein( >10.0mg/l),
8)Rheumatoid factor ( >20U/ml),
9)Anticyclic citrullinate peptide ( >20U/ml).
10)Rheumatoid arthritis patients, who are not on disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, or DMARDs
11)Patients between age group 20-65 years.
12)Patients with no history of allergy to drugs used or prescribed in this study
1)Rheumatoid arthritis patients, who are on disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, or DMARDs
2)Pregnant and lactating females.
3)Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment within a period of 6 months.
4)Patients with plaque index > 1 and who donâ??t follow oral hygiene instructions after phase I therapy.
5)Patients on steroid therapy and oral contraceptives.
6)History of tobacco chewing and current or former smoker.
7)Patients who did not accept terms and conditions of the study.

Name Time Method 1.To study the effect of nutritional supplementation with curcumin on Alkaline Phosphatase levels in gingival crevicular fluid of patients with chronic periodontitis. <br/ ><br>2.To Compare and Evaluate the effect of nutritional supplementation with curcumin on Alkaline Phosphatase levels in gingival crevicular fluid of patients with chronic periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis patients. <br/ ><br>3.To study the use of curcumin as an adjunct in the treatment of periodontal diseases <br/ ><br>Timepoint: at base line and 6 weeks
