简要总结
Successful insertion of nasogastric tube placement can be challenging procedure in anesthetized and intubated patients compared to conscious patients due to absence of coordinated swallowing effort which leads to prolonged procedure time and repetitive attempts of insertion. This is also associated with kinking, misplacement and coiling of tube as well as some adverse effects like injury leading to bleeding. Many modification of the blind method have been developed to overcome the drawbacks and using instruments like video laryngoscope has the potential of having higher success rate over blind insertion owing to the advantage of detecting hindrance and necessary manipulation under vision. In this study a comparison will be made between the blind insertion and Tuoren Video laryngoscope guided insertion of nasogastric tube placement in anesthetized, intubated, adult patients in terms of procedure time (primary outcome), success rate in first attempt, and incidence of adverse events.

入选标准
- •Adult above 18 years patients undergoing elective abdominal surgeries that require intra operative nasogastric tube insertion.
- •Patients who have given written informed consent to participate in the study.
排除标准
- •Anatomical/structural abnormalities such as gross deviated nasal septum, abnormality involving lips and palate.
- •Patients with oral ,nasal ,pharyngeal, oesophageal mass.
- •Patients with significant injuries involving head and neck.
- •Patients with thrombocytopenia or coagulation disorder.
- •Small mouth opening.

- 1. To determine the proportion of the patients in whom successful nasogastric tube insertion will be possible within first attempt using either of the two methods.(2. To observe the adverse events ,if any.)
