Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients presenting with inflammatory conditions of the temporomandibular joint with following symptoms will be included in the study:
  • a) Limited mouth opening
  • b) Pain in the temporomandibular joint on jaw movements
  • c) Temporomandibular joint sounds
  • 2\.Patient who did not respond to the conservative treatment

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients unwilling to participate in the study
  • 2\.Patients presenting with pain and limited mouth opening due to causes other than that originating from temporomandibular joint will be excluded from the study.
  • 3\.Patients presenting with non\-inflammatory conditions of the temporomandibular joint (fracture, joint ankylosis, tumors, hypoplasia, hyperplasia) will also be excluded from the study
  • 4\.Presence of any systemic disease that could affect the TMJ region
  • 5\.Presence of a malignant disease in the head and neck region
  • 6\.systemic, viral, fungal or bacterial infections
  • 7\.addiction to alcohol or drugs \& Pregnant ladies
