Inclusion Criteria

Patients with liver cirrhosis and indication for TIPS placement
- Age = 18 years and < 85 years

Exclusion Criteria

- Non-cirrhotic indications for TIPS placement
Non-cirrhotic portal vein thrombosis
Budd-Chiari Syndrome
Nodular regenerative hyperplasia
- Age < 18 years and = 85 years
- Inability of the patient to consent
- Frustrated TIPS system
- Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)
